On this tour you will be able to enjoy the magnificent Sacred Valley, where you will learn about the traditional lifestyle of local people, such as farming, religion, and language. You will visit some Incan sites such as Pisaq and Ollantayambo and see llamas and alpacas which are the traditional animals of the region. Then, you take a train to Aguas Claientes village, where you will stay the night. On the second day of the tour you will experience a scenic sunrise and tour in Machu Picchu.

Day 1: Cusco - Sacred Valley - Aguas Calientes


We will pick you up from your hotel in Cusco at either 7:00 or 8:00 am. Then, we’ll drive to El Mirador del Valle Sagrado, the Sacred Valley Lookout Point, for amazing views and photos. We will visit the famous Pisaq Market, where women come down from the Andean villages to sell their textiles and vegetables. The market is open daily but is busiest on Sundays, Tuesdays and Thursdays.

After the visit to the market, we will continue the journey up to the Pisaq Inca Archeological site, located on top of Pisaq Mountain in the Sacred Valley. Your tour guide will take you to the most impressive spots.

Then, we will drive along the valley for about 45 minutes until we reach Urubamba, where we will stop for lunch. You will have a fantastic selection of fresh dishes served buffet-style. After lunch, we will drive to Ollantaytambo to see the second-heaviest Inca monoliths.

Your departing train will be at 16:36 p.m., you will need to head to the train station 30 minutes before and catch your train to Aguas Calientes, where you may have dinner there (the train schedule will depend on how far in advance you are booking and the availability of the train.) The train trip to Aguas Calientes is just under two hours, descending into the Cloud Forest, where you will see orchids, bromeliads and ferns.


Day 2: Aguas Calientes - Machu Picchu - Cusco


In order to enjoy a peaceful atmosphere in Machu Picchu, it is advisable to go there early in the morning; therefore, we will leave at 5:30 am, after breakfast. Our guide will take you to the local bus station to catch the bus that goes up to the ruins of Machu Picchu. The bus ride to the sanctuary of Machu Picchu lasts around 25 minutes, and it follows a steep winding path, offering spectacular views of the surrounding mountains.

The guided tour in Machu Picchu will last about 2 hours. Later on, we will take the bus down to Aguas Calientes, where you will have time for lunch and explore the many craft shops in Aguas Calientes.

Finally, at around 4:00 pm, we take the train back to Cusco's city, arriving there after nightfall.
